SCROLL

THE ISLAND AT GOLDEN HOUR

A different Ibiza begins when the sun goes down

As the light softens and the sea turns gold, Ibiza reveals one of its most unforgettable rituals: sunset.

You can watch it from dramatic cliffs, swim until the last light disappears, listen to drums on the beach, or simply sit in silence with the horizon in front of you.

This is our personal selection of sunset spots and viewpoints.
There are many more magical places across the island — part of the beauty of Ibiza is discovering your own.

Selected sunset spots

Es Vedrà

THE MAGNETIC SUNSET

Es Vedrà is the classic Ibiza sunset – powerful, mystical and unforgettable.

From the viewpoints near Cala d’Hort and Torre des Savinar, the silhouette of Es Vedrà becomes almost unreal as the sun falls behind the sea.

It is one of the most iconic views on the island, and also one of the most popular, so arrive early and take your time.

Best for: iconic views, photography, first-time visitors
Mood: mystical, dramatic, unforgettable
Tip: go before sunset to find parking and enjoy the changing light

Es Vedrà is widely recognized as one of Ibiza’s most famous sunset viewpoints, especially from the cliffs near Cala d’Hort.

Benirràs

THE RITUAL SUNSET

Benirràs is not only a sunset. It is a gathering.

Known for its bohemian atmosphere, its protected bay and the famous rock formation in the sea, Benirràs has a special energy at the end of the day.

On certain evenings, the sound of drums turns the sunset into something almost ceremonial.

Best for: music, atmosphere, bohemian Ibiza
Mood: free, tribal, emotional
Tip: in high season, arrive early or check access restrictions

Punta Galera

THE STONE TERRACES

A raw and beautiful viewpoint carved by nature.

Punta Galera is made of flat rock platforms that look like natural balconies over the sea. There is no sand, no beach bar, no decoration – just stone, water and sky.

It is one of the most beautiful places to sit quietly and watch the light change.

Best for: peaceful sunsets, couples, photography
Mood: minimal, wild, elegant
Tip: bring water and comfortable shoes; the rocks can be uneven

Cala Comte

THE GOLDEN ISLANDS

Crystal-clear water, open horizon and small islands glowing in the sunset.

Cala Comte is one of the most photogenic sunset spots in Ibiza. The combination of blue water, golden light and islets on the horizon makes it easy to understand why so many people return here again and again.

It is beautiful all year round, especially when the sky is clear.

Best for: beach sunset, swimming, postcard views
Mood: bright, social, Mediterranean
Tip: stay after the sun disappears — the colors often get better

Cala Comte is often highlighted for its crystal-clear water, islets and sunset views.

San Antonio

SOBRASADA IBICENCA & BUTIFARRA

The most famous sunset ritual in Ibiza.

San Antonio offers the island’s most well-known sunset scene: music, terraces, people gathering by the sea and a festive atmosphere that builds as the sun goes down.

From Ses Variades to Caló des Moro, this is the place for those who want to experience Ibiza’s social sunset.

Best for: music, drinks, atmosphere, groups
Mood: iconic, lively, international
Tip: ideal if you want to combine sunset with dinner or nightlife

The Sant Antoni / Ses Variades area is one of Ibiza’s best-known places to watch sunset with music, including venues such as Café del Mar and Café Mambo.

Ses Salines

GREIXONERA

A softer, quieter way to experience the end of the day.

In Ses Salines, sunset is less about the open sea and more about reflections, salt ponds, birds, soft colors and silence.
It is a beautiful choice for those looking for a more contemplative moment, especially outside the busiest summer weeks.

Best for: calm walks, nature, soft light
Mood: peaceful, reflective, delicate
Tip: autumn and winter can be especially beautiful here

The salt ponds of Ses Salines are known for their reflected sunset colors and tranquil atmosphere.

Es Xuclar / Cala Xuclar

THE QUIET NORTHERN COVE

A small hidden cove for those who prefer silence over spectacle.

Cala Xuclar is intimate, simple and peaceful. It is not the most obvious sunset location, but it carries a very Ibizan feeling: clear water, rocks, fishermen’s huts and a sense of being away from everything.

More than a grand viewpoint, it is a place for a slow afternoon that fades gently into evening.

Best for: quiet escapes, couples, slow travel
Mood: intimate, local, hidden
Tip: better for a calm golden-hour visit than for a dramatic open-horizon sunset

Small actions keep Ibiza wild

BEFORE YOU GO

Sunset is beautiful. Respect makes it better.

Many of Ibiza’s viewpoints are natural, fragile and increasingly busy. Please arrive early, park responsibly, avoid blocking roads, take your rubbish with you and stay away from cliff edges.

Bring water, comfortable shoes and a light layer if you stay after dark.
